Deep Thought says that It's easy to see the bones of Peggy and Steve's relationship from my side of the therapy couch, A brief psychoanalytical review puts their canoodling easily in Freudian territory. One: frail and anemic, skinny Steve doesn't know it until it becomes too late to really do much about it--he is drawn to Peggy from the git-go. No doubt with actress Hayley Atwell's outstanding physical attributes, skinny Steve's subliminal urges find that Peggy Carter's the mother he never had. As for Peggy's part in this behind the forebrain encounter, she sees the child, the brother, the husband material that she can maternally latch onto, mold the man out of him and reform, remake her super, meta human the way she likes them. Bigger, stronger Steve, now remade and reclaimed by all who want to use him (including cagey Peggy whose wheels behind those dark and beautiful eyes are always figuring things and pushing Stevie boy on). She baits him as sometimes mother's do, into difficult situations all the while promising him the Easter egg of all Easter eggs, HER--her on the dance floor. (What a euphemism for what Peggy is really thinking.) How far can she push and cajole his emotions? How far will Stevie boy let her manipulate him right into her eventual lap for a good hair on the chest stroking... okay, as baby butt bald that steroid enhanced chest of his will allow her to, anyway!
So, instead of What if?", it really becomes "What Th'?"; as the two awkwardly consummate their curiosity and go for it. The mother kissed her "son"! The mother took care of her "boy". The son performed for his hot mother's approval. Freud sad that (roughly speaking); Boys look for their mother in other women. Mothers also look for their son as well. They love the nurturing, molding part. That said, it's difficult to watch the eager do-si-do going on between their eyes.
Peggy's got some 'splianin' to do ... in Avenger's Endgame, an aged Steve Rogers has traveled back in time with a fulfilling life with Peggy Carter. In Captain America, the Winter Soldier; Peggy reveals that she lived her life happy with her "husband and children", but are they Steve Rogers’s kids, and that he lived a secret life with his passive-aggresive, steaming-MILF, maternal-esque obsession? It gets sort of messy from there, if so! Your fifteen minutes is up now! Next ...
